Hamilton, NY - Vermont State University Lyndon took an early 6-2 lead in Wednesday night's men's basketball game at Division I Colgate University. The defending Patriot League champion Raiders responded with a 25-0 run and never looked back, running away with a 115-37 victory to improve to 5-4 on the season. The game was classified as an exhibition for Lyndon.
Colgate placed six players in double figures, led by Chandler Baker, who tallied a game high 17 points. Parker Jones added 16 points while Kyle Carlesimo and Sam Wright chipped in with 15 points apiece. Brady Cummins and Julian Scott also reached double figures with 14 and 10 points respectively. Mondwell Bukle (Pyeongtaek, South Korea) was the only Lyndon player in double figures, as he tallied 13 points and grabbed a game high nine rebounds.
Colgate forced 28 Lyndon turnovers, resulting in 41 Raider points. Colgate also outrebounded Lyndon, 35-23, and shot 56.4% from the floor whole holding Lyndon to 25.5% shooting.
The Hornets get back into North Atlantic Conference play on Friday evening when they travel to Thomas College for the first game in a weekend back to back. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
