Lyndonville, VT - Husson University used a smothering defense and balanced offense to roll to a 90-36 North Atlantic Conference women's basketball victory over Vermont State University Lyndon on Friday evening. The Eagles evened their overall record at 3-3, while the Hornets fell to 4-3 on the season. The game was the NAC opener for both teams.
Sophia McVicar scored a game high 17 points to lead Husson. Sofia Torres-Reyes added 12 points and Bailey Donovan pulled down 12 rebounds. Sage Smith (Colebrook, NH) was Lyndon's leading scorer with eight points.
The same two teams will meet again on Saturday afternoon in Stannard Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
