Lyndonville, VT - The State University of New York at Cobleskill scored five times in each half, cruising to a 10-0 North Atlantic Conference crossover men's soccer victory over Vermont State University Lyndon on Sunday afternoon. Cobleskill improved to 4-6-1 on the season and 2-3 in conference play, while Lyndon fell to 0-11 and 0-5 in conference.
Derek Streeter had a hat trick and added two assists to lead the Fighting Tigers. Declan McCracken added two goals and John Posanti, Cody Petschko, Nicholas DePaulo, Luke Tebsherany, and Trevor Masocco scored one goal apiece.
Cobleskill outshot Lyndon, 37-2. Robert McDonald (Arnold, MD) stopped seven Cobleskill shots in the Hornet goal. Adam Champlin and Joe Wille each played a half to earn the combined shutout. Wille thwarted Lyndon's best scoring opportunity, a shot from near the top of the box from David Gratton (Newport, VT) in the 53rd minute.
The Hornets will return to action next Saturday when they host Thomas College in antother NAC contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm. It will be Lyndon's final home game so the team will celebrate Senior Day by honoring its two graduating seniors, Joseph Patrick Osborn (Hanover, NH) and Koltin LeDuc (Tunbridge, VT), prior to kickoff.
