Lyndonville, VT - Husson University jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the opening set of Sunday's North Atlantic Conference volleyball match at Vermont State University Lyndon. The Eagles never looked back, cruising to a 3-0 win over the Hornets by scores 25-6, 25-13, 25-9. Husson improved to 6-13 on the season and 6-3 in conference, while Lyndon fell to 2-16 overall and 2-6 in the NAC.
Janna Preskorn led a balanced Husson attack with eight kills and five digs. Cheyenne Young added six kills while Molly Gamache recorded 14 assists and Beatrice Tursi chipped in with seven digs. Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) had a pari of kills for Lyndon. Briona Graham (Port Arthur, TX) had three assists and Gray Hoselton (Fargo, ND) posted eight digs.
Lyndon will host the University of Maine at Presque Isle next Saturday. The Hornets and Owls will square off in a North Atlantic Conference matchup at noon, and follow with a non-conference match.
