Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hornet men unable to overcome the elements or UMaine-Farmington

Farmington, ME - Playing in heavy rain throughout, the Vermont State University Lyndon men's soccer team succumbed to a deeper University of Maine at Farmington team.  The host Beavers rolled to an 11-0 North Atlantic Conference victory in a game that was halted in the 76th minute due to deteriorating field conditions.  UMF improved to 8-7-2 on the season and 6-2 in the NAC while Lyndon fell to 0-13 overall and 0-7 in conference.

William Lavigne and Mohamed Adow scored two goals apiece to lead UMF,  Eric McCallum added a goal and two assists and Cade McHugh had a goal and an assist.

Three Beaver goalkeepers shared the shutout without having to make a save.  Lyndon was only able to generate two shots, one from Gilbert Flores (Winstead, CT), and one from Joseph Patrick Osborn (Hanover, NH), as UMF outshot Lyndon, 28-2, and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.  Robert McDonald (Arnold, MD) made nine saves in goal for the Hornets.

Lyndon will wrap up NAC play with a game at the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
