Johnson, VT - Vermont State University Lyndon dropped a three set decision to Vermont State University Johnson in North Atlantic Conference volleyball on Wednesday evening. The Badgers prevailed 25-11, 25-3, 25-16 and improved to 7-11 on the season and 3-3 in the NAC. Lyndon fell to 0-14 overall and 0-5 in conference.
The Badgers held a slim 12-10 lead in the opening set before running off 12 consecutive points to pull away for the set win. Johnson cruised in the second set, but in the third Lyndon hung tough and was within 18-16 before the Badgers scored seven straight points to close out the match.
Vivie Babbott paced the Badgers with 12 kills. Max Ludlow had 14 assists and 12 service aces while Jimmi Lynn Williams chipped in 11 digs. Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) led the Hornets with three kills. Leilani Medina (Laredo, TX) had a pair of assists and a pair of aces. Emily Anderson (Levittown, NY) and Briona Graham (Port Arthur, TX) each recorded four digs.
The Hornets are off until next Wednesday, when they host Vermont State University Castleton in a non-conference contest. Match time is 7:00 pm.
