Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont State University Lyndon volleyball team played in their own gym for the first time in nearly a month tonight. Unfortunately for the Hornets, it wasn't enough as visiting Vermont State University Castleton came away with a straight set non-conference victory, 25-11, 25-8, 25-12. The Spartans improved to 6-9 with the win, while the Hornets fell to 0-15.
Hailey Martinovich paced Castleton with 13 kills. Jocelyn Ray added ten kills and setter Maddie Delsignore set the table with 33 assists. Sophia Call had a team high 14 digs. Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) had a pair of assists and seven digs for Lyndon.
The Hornets will jump back into North Atlantic Conference play this Saturday when they host Lesley University in a doubleheader. The first match will begin at 1:00 pm, and will be followed by the match that was originally scheduled for October 3rd at Lesley.
