Cobleskill, NY - The State University of New York at Cobleskill jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 65-47 North Atlantic Conference women's basketball victory over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Tigers improved to 10-7 on the season and 6-1 in NAC play. The Hornets fell to 7-7 overall and 3-2 in conference.
Cobleskill took a 16-7 lead after one quarter. Lyndon was able to get within six early in the second quarter. However after the Tigers pushed their advantage to ten on an Annie Canales three-pointer at the 5:41 mark, the Hornets were unable to get within single digits the rest of the way.
Emily Satterday led a balanced Cobleskill attack with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Talia Washington also reached double figures with 10 points. Taylor Meacham finished with nine points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Riann Fortin (Derby, VT) paced Lyndon with a game high 14 points. Sage Smith (Colebrook, NH) added 12 points and Saleena Porter (St. Johnsbury, VT) chipped in seven points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
The Hornets return home for a non-conference matchup against Plymouth State University on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm.
