Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Hornet women drop road contest to Fisher

Medford, MA - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's soccer team took to the road for the first time this season on Monday afternoon, traveling to Fisher College for a non-conference matchup.  Unfortunately for the Hornets, they came up on the short end of a 3-1 result.  With the win, Fisher evened their record at 1-1 on the season, while Lyndon fell to 0-1-1.

Kelly Wallace got Fisher on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute.  Wallace made it 2-0 less than three minutes later when she took a pass from Juliette Dominguez and found the back of the net.

The Hornets got on the board in the 40th minute.  A Fisher defender deflected a Lyndon corner kick into the net for an own goal, making the score 2-1 at halftime.

Fisher's Naomi Vivas took a pass from Wallace and scored less than two minutes into the second half, making it 3-1, Falcons.  That would be the final goal of the game, as neither team was able to convert again in the rainy and slick conditions.

The Hornets will open North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday when they travel to Thomas College.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
