Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team scored the most points in a match thus far this season, but it wasn't enough on Wednesday evening. Visiting Elms College swept the Hornets, 25-13, 25-9, 25-15, to take the non-conference matchup. Elms improves to 2-7 on the season while Lyndon remains winless in nine outings.
Jaylianne Ramos had a big night for Elms, finishing with 12 kills and 10 digs. Jaylin Holman recorded 19 assists and four aces, and Samantha Bassell and Alyssa Moore finished with nine digs apiece.
Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) had four kills for the Hornets and Calysta Lohman (Seward, AK) added three kills and three aces. Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) led Lyndon with seven aces. Libero Seairra Anderson (Somersworth, NH) had a strong game on the back, finishing with a match high 17 digs.
This Saturday the Hornets will play host to a tri-match. Lyndon will start the day with a 1:00 pm matchup against Bay Path University. At 3:00 pm, Bay Path will play Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. The Hornets and MCLA will then conclude play with a 5:00 pm contest.
