Bangor, ME - After Northern Vermont University-Lyndon played a competitive opening set, host Husson University cruised through the next two sets to come away with a North Atlantic Conference volleyball victory on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles, who took the match 25-15, 25-3, 25-9, evened their overall record at 7-7 and remained unbeated in NAC play at 3-0. The Hornets remained winless in 15 matches this season, including two conference contests.
Cheyenne Young led a balanced Husson attack with 10 kills, as the Eagles amassed 34 kills over the three set match. Setter Alyvia McIntyre recorded 28 assists and Amber Lemay had 11 digs. Calysta Lohman (Seward, AK) had four kills and four digs to lead the Hornets. Saleena Porter (St. Johnsbury, VT) had three asists.
The Hornets' home NAC match against Northern Vermont University-Johnson which was scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed. No reschedule date has been announced. Lyndon will return to action next Sunday, October 9th, when they travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a pair of matches. Opening serve for the first match at UMPI is set for 11:00 AM.
