Hornet women drop non-conference matchup at New England College

Henniker, NH - New England College took an early lead and controlled play throughout Tuesday's non-conference women's soccer game against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.  The Pilgrims emerged with a 3-0 victory and raised their record to 1-9-5.  The Hornets fell to 2-10-1.

NEC's Reese Hultgren scored off of Fernanda Rojas' corner kick in the 11th minute to put the hosts in front.  Secpond half goals from Mia Lowenberg in the 67th minute and Emma Rice in the 90th minute rounded out the scoring.

NEC outshot Lyndon, 35-3, and earned 11 corner kicks to two for the Hornets.  Hornet goalkeeper Karly Cordwell (Milan, NH) did her part to keep Lyndon in the game by making ten saves.  Her Pilgrim counterpart, Stephanie Bronowicki, posted the clean sheet without having to make a save.

On Thursday, the Hornets will host Northern Vermont University-Johnson in a North Atlantic Conference crossover game that was originally scheduled for September 25th.  Kickoff on Varsity Field is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
