Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hornet men unable to recover from early deficit against Husson

Lyndonville, VT -  Husson University scored three goals in the first 25 minutes of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference men's soccer game at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.  The Hornets weren't able to recover, as the Eagles came away with a 3-0 victory.  Husson improved to 10-3-2 on the season and leads the NAC East Division at 7-0-1.  Lyndon fell to 1-10-1 overall and 0-8 in conference.

Will Feldman got the Eagles on the board with a goal in the seventh minute, off of an assist from Menuka Perera.  Arni Hreidarsson's unassisted goal in the 18th minute made it 2-0, then Carlos Etchevers scored another unassisted goal in the 25th minute.

After that, the pace slowed, as the Hornet defense tightened and the Eagles played to protect their lead.

Husson outshot Lyndon, 22-6, and generated 13 corner kicks to none for the Hornets.  Garrick Webster (Terryville, CT) had four of Lyndon's six shots, with two of them on target.  Husson also possessed the ball for 63% of the game, with most of that time coming in the offensive end.

Brett Roy (Newport, VT) made five saves in goal for Lyndon, while Alex Rechsteiner made three stops and picked up the clean sheet for Husson.

The Hornets will travel to Northern Vermont University-Johnson for a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.  Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
