Johnson, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon took the early lead in Tuesday's men's college soccer game at Northern Vermont University-Johnson, scoring less than four minutes into the game.  The Hornets held onto the lead deep into the second half, before the Badgers scored three late goals to come away with a 3-1 non-conference victory.  Johnson improved to 3-8-2 on the season, while Lyndon fell to 1-11-1.
In the fourth minute, Lyndon's Jacob Baesemann (St. Johnsbury, VT) took a pass from Joseph Patrick Osborn (Hanover, NH) and put a shot past Badger goalkeeper Patrick Austin.  The Hornets were able to keep Johnson at bay throughout the first half.  Johnson outshot Lyndon, 10-2, in the stanza, but Hornet goalkeeper Brett Roy (Newport, VT) stopped all four shots on goal that he faced.
the Hornets continued to keep the Badgers at bay as the second half started.  Then in the 66th minute, the Hornets were called for a foul in the box.  Johnson's Wyatt Moberg converted the penalty kick to knot the game at 1-1.  The Badgers took the lead in the 72nd minute when Elliud Villarreal's free kick from just outside the box went off of Rioy's fingertips and into the corner of the net.  Johnson added an insurance goal from William Paulson in the 76th minute to account for the final score.
Johnson would up with a 15-2 advantage in shots and a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.  Roy finished with five saves, while Austin didn't record a save in picking up the win.
Lyndon returns home on Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Maine at Presque Isle at 1:00 pm.  The Hornets will celebrate Senior Day and honor their seniors prior to kickoff.
