Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hornets unable to get anything going in loss at Rivier

Nashua, NH - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon was only able to generate one shot in their non-conference men's soccer game at Rivier University on Wednesday evening.  As a result, the host Raiders cruised to a 6-0 win and improved to 2-5 on the season.  The Hornets fell to 1-7.

Rivier's Jason Harlow scored twice in the game's first 20 minutes and give the Raiders control of the game.  Hayden Bilodeau then found the net in the 27th minute to make it 3-0, Rivier at the half.  The Raiders had 13 shots in the opening stanza, while Quinlan Peer's (Saranac Lake, NY) shot that went wide left in the eighth minute turned out to be Lyndon's only one of the half.

Rivier maintained control in the second half, as Harlow completed his hat trick in the 54th minute.  They added a pair of late insurance goals to account for the final margin.

Rivier outshot Lyndon, 21-1, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Hornet goalkeeper Brett Roy (Newport, VT) stopped nine of Ricier's 15 shots on goal.  Sebastian Lembo and Sean Deveau combined for the shutout without being called upon to make a save.

The Hornets with travel to the University of Maine at Farmington for a North Atlantic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm.
