Paxton, MA - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team took to the road again on Monday evening, traveling to Anna Maria College for a non-conference matchup. The host AMCATS emerged with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-11 victory to improve to 4-8 on the season. The Hornets remain winless in ten outings.
Anna Maria capitalized on Hornet errors to maintain control throughout the match. The Hornets committed 25 attack errors, eight service errors, and 17 receiving errors, while the AMCATS committed 11 attack errors, seven service errors, and only three receiving errors.
Julia Tarantino led a balanced Anna Maria attack with six kills and 16 assists. Ryann Hassett, Ashley Sheehan, and Sarah Burt added five kills each. Bella Kozciak and Burt recorded 12 and 11 digs respectively. For the Hornets, Kiana Jones (Wilbraham, MA) finished with a match high seven kills and Kersene Austinville (Federalsburg, MD) added five kills. Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) posted 12 assists and 12 digs.
The Hornets will play at home for the first time in four weeks on Wednesday evening when they host Castleton University in their final non-conference match before North Atlantic Conference play begins this weekend. Match time in Stannard Gymnasium is set for 6:00 pm.
