Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team captured their first set of the season on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for the Hornets to break into the win column, as Bay Path University rallied for a 3-1 victory in the first contest of the day's tri-match involving Lyndon, Bay Path, and Fisher College. Fisher was a 3-0 winner over Bay Path in the middle match, and Fisher downed the Hornets, 3-0, in the nightcap. With two wins, Fisher improved to 11-5 on the season. Bay Path's split left the Wildcats at 5-11, while the Hornets remained winless in 16 matches.
Bay Path 3, NVU-Lyndon 1 (24-26, 25-14, 25-14, 25-22)
In the opening set the Hornets rallied from a 22-15 deficit to capture their first set win nearly three years. After Bay Path rallied to take the next two sets, the Wildcats appeared to be cruising to a victory. The Hornets responded, however, and battled back from an 18-9 deficit to pull within 22-21. Lyndon's efforts came up short, however, as Bay Path was able to win three of the next four points to close out the match.

For the Hornets, Kiana Jones (Wilbraham, MA) led the way with nine kills, while Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) tallied a match high 19 assists.
