Box Score Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's soccer team fell to North Atlantic Conference pre-season favorite Thomas College 7-0 on Varsity Field Saturday afternoon. The Hornets are winless in six starts this season, while the Terriers improve to 6-1 overall. The match was the NAC opener for both teams.
Thomas controlled play throughout the contest, as they outshot Lyndon 53-2. Kyle Patterson, Josh Morrissey, and Michael Sanzari notched two goals apiece for the Terriers. Hornet goalkeepers Caleb Derbyshire (Barton, VT) and Dennis Farnham III (Orono, ME) had a busy afternoon, as they made ten and seven saves respectively. Jonathan Dutka and John Villanueva each played a half in goal for Thomas without being called upon to make a save.
The Hornets will host NAC newcomer the University of Maine at Presque-Isle in a Homecoming Weekend contest next Saturday at 3:30 pm.
