Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Lyndon State College men's soccer team played their 2016 season finale at Norwich University Tuesday evening, coming up just short in a 1-0 loss.
Noah Clemmer (Marlboro, N.Y.) scored the lone goal of the game in the 69th minute with a header at the back post on a corner kick lobbed into the box by Carlos Guerra (Mission, Texas).
From there, the Cadets were able to stave off the Hornet attack for the 1-0 win.
Matt LaClair (Beekmantown, N.Y.) made a couple of fantastic saves in net for the Hornets, finishing with a total of seven on the evening.
Billey Whaley (Northfield, Vt.) made three saves to pick up the shutout for the Cadets.
Lyndon finishes the season with an overall record of 6-8-1 and 3-6 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), far exceeding their win total of two just a year ago.
Norwich finishes the regular season 10-4-3 overall and 6-0-3 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).  The Cadets will host Rivier on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the GNAC quarterfinals.
