Box Score JOHNSON, Vt. – The Lyndon men's soccer team lost to host Johnson State 4-1 Wednesday afternoon. The loss drops the Hornets overall 1-12 and to a 0-7 mark in conference action. The Badgers improve to 3-11 overall and 2-6 in NAC play with the win.
Johnson opened up the scoring in the contest with penalty kick from Josh King just 6:33 into play. In the 20th minute, Corey Nystrom threaded a low cross to Sean Springer for the Badgers' second goal of the day.
The Hornets would get one goal back before the half on a penalty kick from Youl Herjok (Bor, South Sudan).
However, Johnson struck again in the 63rd minute off of another Springer goal, this time assisted by Josh King. Pedro Perez would net one final goal in the 75th minute to put the final score at 4-1.
The Hornets ended the game with 12 shots on goal but were just unable to capitalize. Matt LaClair (Beekmantown, N.Y.) made six saves in the loss.
Alex Pakatar picked up the win in net for the Badgers making ten saves.
The Hornets host St. Joseph's (Me.) on Sunday at 2:00pm.
