Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon men's soccer team fell to Colby-Sawyer College 4-0 Saturday afternoon at the Varsity Athletic field in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup.
Noah Camelo (Marblehead, Mass.) netted the game-winning goal with a header off a Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.) corner in the 25th minute.
Sexton would break into the scoring column in the 48th minute with a header of his own off a free kick from Zach Anderson (Wilmington, Mass.). Sexton picked up his second goal of the day in the 71st minute when he beat the defense after a lead pass from Zach Elmore (Berlin, Vt.). Just over a minute later Andrew Clothier (Matamata, New Zealand) launched a corner kick into the box that found Kevin Tracy (West Hartford, Conn.) who kicked the ball over the line just before Hornet keeper Matt LaClair (Beekmantown, N.Y.) swatted it away.
Visibly improving each game, the Hornets possessed the ball well and moved the ball up the field throughout the game. However, Lyndon came up empty on their attacks that yielded four shots on goal.
LaClair made six saves in 75 minutes of work in net for the Hornets. Jason Pelkey (Barre, Vt.) picked up one save in relief of LaClair.
Shane Sacks (Huntington Station, N.Y.) recorded four saves in the shutout win for the Chargers.
The Hornets (1-10, 0-5 NAC) host New England College tomorrow at 2:30pm. The Chargers (6-5, 5-0 NAC) travel to play Johnson State College at 3:30pm.
