Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. — The New England College men's soccer would net four second half goals and defeat visiting Lyndon 4-0 Sunday afternoon.
With the win the Pilgrims improve to 9-5-2 overall and 5-1-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The loss drops the Hornets to 9-10-0 on the season and 2-6-0 in the NAC.
Neither team would muster a goal in the opening half of play as the Pilgrims controlled much of the offensive firing six shots on net and one which ricochet off the goal post and out.
NEC would tally two goals in a two-minute span in the second half as Sebastian Andersson would rebound in a shot from Sina Samali in the 57th minute followed by a score from senior defender Brandon Currier in the 59th minute.
The Pilgrims would tack on an additional goal in the 70th minute as Ronsard Masamba would dribble through a pair of Hornet defenders and bury a shot to record his second goal of the season. NEC would close out the scoring in the 76th minute as Manny Arteaga would net his fourth goal of the season putting in a feed from Ronsard Masamba.
NEC finished the game out shooting Lyndon 30-1 and held the 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Picking up the win in net for NEC was Mark Nowak who had one save. In goal for Lyndon was Jason Marks (Newtown, Conn.) who recorded 15 saves on the afternoon.
Lyndon will hit the field on Saturday, Oct. 25, closing out its regular season at home against conference foe Johnson State College. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
