Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – Colby-Sawyer College won its sixth straight match and recorded an eighth shuout of the season after Saturday's 3-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Lyndon at the Sally Shaw Veitch Turf Field.
The Chargers improve to 9-4-1 overall and 5-1 in the NAC. Lyndon dropped to 6-9 overall and 2-5 in conference action.
Denali Sexton scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season at 9:01. He managed to weave his way through a few Hornet defenders and beat the Hornet goalkeeper Jason Marks (Newtown, Conn.) to the cross corner of the net.
Alex Ortega continued his climb among the all-time great offensive players in Colby-Sawyer history with his seventh goal of the season. Ortega volleyed a feed from Mohamed Jafar from 20 yards out that curved into the right corner of the net.
Nick Austin earned his eighth shutout of the season by making four saves in the win. Marks kept the Hornets in the match with nine stops. Colby-Sawyer had advantages of 20-10 in shots and 8-2 in corner kicks.
