Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Alex Ortega scored two goals to lead Colby-Sawyer College to a 3-0 victory over Lyndon in North Atlantic Conference men's soccer action Sunday.
At the 18:46 mark of the first half, Andrew Clothier's corner kick found Rick Prindiville in front of the net and he headed the ball in to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead. At 30:25 Ortega would score his first of the game to put the Chargers up 2-0. Less than five minutes later, Ortega would score on a free kick to put the Chargers up 3-0.
The Hornets applied pressure to the Colby defense, but could not find the mark. Lyndon's Jason Marks (Newtown, Conn.) was relieved of his goal keeping duties at 65:56 of the second half by Jason Pelkey (Barre, Vt.). Marks and Pelkey combined for six saves in the loss.
Colby-Sawyer (6-3, 2-0) outshot Lyndon (0-8-1, 0-3-1) by a margin of 18-13. Lyndon's next home contest will be against Castleton State on Saturday, October 12 at 2:30 pm.
