Sarah Flore followed with a single to plate Maltbie and two batters later Julie Benzenberg singled her home.

Fearon and Maltbie each stroked run-scoring doubles in the second frame, and Steph Wright doubled and scored.

Fearon and Flore each had rbi-singles in the fourth inning to make it 7-0, and Fearon put the game on ice with her first collegiate homerun to centerfield. Maltbie and Flore each finished with two hits and two RBI, while Benzenberg had a pair of singles and one RBI.

Taylor Lively tossed a complete-game one hitter, striking out nine and walking one to earn the shutout. Maltbie went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI to lead the offense. Castleton sent 12 batters to the plate, scoring eight runs on just one hit. The Spartans worked five walks and used two Hornet errors and two hit batsmen to aid their cause.
