Box Score 2 ELIOT, Maine - Lyndon fell to 5-7 on the season overall, and 1-5 in the North Atlantic Conference, with a doubleheader loss to Thomas College. The Hornets fell 9-1 in Game 1 and 11-7 in Game 2.
In the opener, Kaymala Eells had four hits and Sarah Estes drove in three runs to propel the Terriers to victory. Sara Pavento went five innings to get the win allowing one earned run on three hits while stiking out three and walking one.
Natalia Shams (Swampscott, Mass.), Kelly Butler (Hubbardston, Mass.) and Morgan Sanderson (Fairfax, Vt.) had one hit each for the Hornets. Sham's hit was a home run, her first in a Lyndon uniform. Meghan Gadapee (Littleton, N.H.) went the distance in the loss allowing eight earned runs on nine hits.
In the nightcap, Estes, Alyssa Crowe and Alexandra Kriegel had two hits each as Thomas pulled off a sweep of the twin bill. Pavento went four innings to get the win allowing three earned runs on five hits while fanning four and walking none.
Butler, Chelsea Watson (Eliot, Maine) and Mary Gagne (Highgate, Vt.) had two hits each for the Hornets. Gagne had a home run in the contest and drove in three. Shams, the first of three Lyndon pitchers in the contest, took the loss.
