Patrice Lumumba scored his second goal of the season on a penalty kick at 22:45 of the opening half to give the Hornets the lead for good. Teammate Andrew O'Brien made it 2-0 less than 10 minutes later by punching home the rebound of a shot that was deflected in from of the Tigers' goal. 

In the second half, Cobleskill's Aaron Gallusser cut the deficit to one at the 55^th minute mark when he scored from 25 meters out on a free kick, but Lyndon's Kyle Mecham answered the challenge with a goal of his own at 79:30 to close out the scoring in the contest and send Lyndon on to its second win of the season.

Hornets' goalkeeper Jason Gray stopped three shots to earn his second victory of the season while Tigers' netminder Mack Curran collected four saves in the loss.
