Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Elms rallied from a 2-0 deficit with
less than 30 minutes remaining to earn a 2-2 tie with Lyndon in
non-conference men's soccer action Saturday.
The Hornets took a 1-0 lead 34:27 into the contest on a goal by
Thomas Jacobs-Moore (Moretown, Vt.). Emmitt Simpson (Barton, Vt.)
drew an assist on the play. Shortly after halftime, Lyndon upped
its lead to two when Teague Coyle (Northfield, N.H.) scored his
second goal of the season - an unassisted tally – at
55:45.
The Hornets managed to hold the two-goal advantage until 64:40
when Blazer's striker Bryan Davey scored to cut the lead to
one. In the waning minutes of the contest, Chris Silva scored the
game-tying goal for Elms; send the game into sudden-death
overtime.
Both team managed to get the upper hand in the extra session and
the contest ended in a 2-2 tie. Lyndon goalkeeper Jason Gray (East
Thetford, Vt.) made six saves in the game while Blazers'
goalie Ryan Sullivan had seven. Lyndon outshot Elms 20-12 in the
game.
