Box Score 2 LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — The Norwich
University softball team swept a doubleheader against Lyndon State
College Tuesday at Skip Pound Field. With the two victories,
Norwich improved their record to 10-13 while Lyndon dropped to 1-13
overall.
In the opener, the Lady Cadets accumulated 32 hits drove in 26
runners as a team, en route to 27-1 victory. Lindsay Carey and
Hallie Grennon each stroked five hits and had five RBI's
while Mackenzie Pratt and Marley Balasco collected four hits and
four RBI's. Pratt and Grennon each homered and doubled in the
win. Pratt and Grennon combined to throw a four-hitter in the
circle. Grennon was credited with the win while Katelyn Willey (Lancaster, N.H.) took the loss. Alise
Vandel (Brattleboro, Vt.) drove in the only Lyndon
run.
In Game 2, Norwich escaped with a 17-14 win as Lyndon battled
back. Balasco and Grennon each drove in four runs on three hits,
including doubles. Grennon also tripled in the contest. Carey
stroked a double and had three RBI's while teammate Jessalyn
Sweeney collected two hits.
Michelle Wilcox (Sheldon, Vt.) hit a double and
drove in four runs for Lyndon. Natalia Shams
(Swampscott, Mass.) had four hits, including a triple, while
Kathy Kline (Coventry, R.I.) added three hits.

In the circle, Pratt came in to throw two innings in relief and
pick up the win for Norwich. She allowed two runs on two hits and
struck out four batters. Shams pitched a complete game for Lyndon
and took the loss.
