Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas won a hard-fought
2-1 victory in overtime over Lyndon in an important North Atlantic
Conference men's soccer matchup. The Terriers played the entire
second half and overtime a man down due to a red card issued at the
33-minute mark.
Both teams went into intermission tied at 0-0 with only a total
of 11 shots in the first half. The first goal came at the 67-minute
mark and was scored by Lyndon's Teague Coyle (Northfield, N.H.).
The tally was assisted by Patrice Lumumba (Burlington, Vt.). Thomas
answered five minutes later with a shot well outside the top of the
box by Paul Rechichi.
The score remained tied at 1-1 at the end of regualtion, forcing
overtime. Thomas would score the game-winning goal six minutes into
overtime on a shot from Casey Castle. Thomas midfielder Edwin
Reyes dribbled the ball into the penalty box and fed Castle,
who placed a shot through the legs of Hornet goalkeeper Jason Gray
(East Thetford, Vt.).
Mikkail Crockwell recorded the win for Thomas, making six saves.
Gray finished the game with seven saves.
