Box Score JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State won a its
North Atlantic Conference men's soccer matchup at Minaert
Field by doubling up Lyndon State College 4-2 behind a pair of
goals from freshman Noor Bulle.
The Hornets struck first when P.J. Danforth
(Concord, Vt.) took a pass from Tyler Bullard
(North Hyde Park, Vt.) and beat Johnson keeper Steve Noyes at the
25:07 mark. Johnson would even the score at 1-1 when Alex
Komeyan poked a rebound of a Gai Gai shot past LSC goalkeeper
Ian Oliver (Westport, Mass.).
A big play in the game came early in the second half when a foul
on a JSC defender put Lyndon's Darren Roberge (Sheldon, Vt.) alone in the box for a penalty kick
but Noyes dove to his left to make a huge stop for the Badgers.
The score would remain 1-1 until Bulle scored the first of his
two goals on a direct kick that twisted past a diving Oliver at the
65:12 mark. Bulle's second goal would come just shortly after
at the 68:53 mark when Ryan Demars drew Oliver out of the goal and
unselfishly found Bulle all alone on the left side for an easy
Badger score making it 3-1.
Lyndon State's Patrice Lumumba
(Burlington, Vt.) recorded an unassisted goal with 73:33 to play
brought the score to 3-2 but JSC would ice the game when Chad
Koenig floated a crossing pass to the far post that Gai skillfully
headed back across the goal to the top corner for the 4-2
margin.
Noyes made four saves to earn the win and Oliver recorded seven
stops including several in one-on-one situations. Johnson outshot
Lyndon 20-12 in the game.
