was the game-winner as Castleton State defeated Lyndon State 3-0
Saturday in the North Atlantic Conference men's soccer opener
for both programs.
Josh Costa extended the Spartan's lead to 2-0 at the 67:05
mark by converting a penalty kick, and Chris Mulholland, off an
assist from Costa, ended the day's scoring with a tally at
84:40. Greg Klopfer was credited with an assist on tDe
Chance's game-winning goal.
Castleton's Mike Anthony stopped one shot in earning the
shutout and Lyndon's Ian Oliver (Westport,
Mass.) made eight saves in the loss. The Spartans (4-3) outshot the
Hornets (2-5) by a count of 27-5.
