– The Plymouth State University men's
basketball team jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first five
minutes of the game, running away to a 74-60 triumph over Lyndon
State College at Foley Gymnasium.
Eric Hondal and Bryan Tracy combined to hit three three-pointers as
PSU rattled off 11 straight points early on to take a 13-2
advantage. Hondal and Tracy each made three treys in the game and
finished with 12 points apiece. Bill Stowell also scored 12 points
for the Panthers, while Mike Chergey and Tom Dowd scored 10 points
each.
Lyndon State also had a balanced scoring attack, as Jose Fortunato (Boston, Mass.) and Avery King
(Pawtucket, R.I.) finished with 12 points apiece. Mike
Norcross (Woodsville, N.H.) added 11 points, and
Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) chipped in 10.
Gray collected a team-high seven rebounds in the contest while
Fortunato and Logan Calkins (Danville, Vt.) handed
out three assists each. O'Bee Byrd (Waterbury,
Conn.) had three steals to lead Lyndon.
