Costa tallied three goals in the first 16 minutes of the game to stake the Terriers to a quick 3-0 lead before Tom Desjardins upped the advantage to 4-0 by the 20-minute mark on an assist from Andrew Pelletier. Costa would notch his fourth and final goal of the game at 24:27 mark to extend the Thomas lead to 5-0.

Dustin Ameden (Jamaica, VT) got the Hornets on the score board late in the first half and Phil Curll (Hope, Maine) cut the deficit to three with a marker at 88:10. Scott Pullen pushed the Terriers' lead back to four with an unassisted goal in the waning minutes of the contest before Teague Coyle (Northfield, N.H.) tallied the final Lyndon goal of the game with one second remaining.

Thomas keeper James Leibowitz made three saves to get the victory while the LSC tandem of Ian Oliver (Westport, Mass.) and Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) combined to make six saves in the contest. Thomas outshot Lyndon by a count of 26-11.
