Reece Tanguay was appointed as the head baseball coach at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in December of 2018.  Tanguay, a 2016 graduate of Lyndon State College, had been the Hornets' associate head coach and recruiting coordinator since January, and served as interim head coach during the Fall 2018 season.

After the Covid-19 pandemic prematurely ended the 2020 campaign after just 10 games, Tanguay led the Hornets back into North Atlantic Conference contention in 2021.  The Hornets finished with an 11-11 overall record and missed out on a berth in the NAC East Championship series on the final day of the regular season.  He coached three First Team All-Conference performers, including the program's first ever NAC Player of the Year, Codi Smith.

In 2019, his initial season leading the Hornets, Tanguay led Lyndon to a 22-21 overall record.  The Hornets finished 11-5 in North Atlantic Conference play, the program's best conference mark since joining the NAC in 2008.  Lyndon finished second in the regular season standings and third in the conference tournament.  Tanguay produced five All-Conference players including NAC Pitcher of the Year Jake Jourdain, who was also named the program's first Honorable Mention All-American by D3baseball.com.

Tanguay graduated from Essex High School in Essex Junction, VT in 2012.  Upon graduation, he attended the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.  He played two seasons with the Corsairs and was a member of the Little East Conference All-Academic Team in 2014.  Over five semesters at UMass-Dartmouth, he earned a GPA of 3.955.  Reece transferred to Lyndon in the spring of 2015.  A middle infielder, he was a consistent performer with the bat and glove over his two seasons with the program, garnering Second Team All-North Atlantic Conference selections in 2015 and 2016.  He was named a captain in 2016 and was the recipient of the Dudley Bell Award as Lyndon's most outstanding male athlete.  Tanguay was also the inaugural winner of the NAC Baseball Senior Scholar Athlete Award, given to him for his accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.  He graduated from Lyndon in 2016 with a 4.00 GPA.

Tanguay's coaching career began in 2015, when he served as an assistant coach for the South Burlington American Legion baseball team.  In 2016, he helped coach the Vermont Jays Travel Baseball Club in the summer and the Vermont Royal Showcase Team in the fall.  In the spring of 2017, Reece served as an assistant for Vermont state Division One runner-up Essex High School before joining the coaching staff of the state champion Franklin County Post 01 American Legion club.  He is currently the head coach of the Essex Post 91 19U American Legion team.  Under his direction, Post 91 captured the Vermont state championship in 2018 and 2021.

He currently resides in Essex Junction, VT.
