Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont State University Lyndon volleyball team played at home for the first time on Friday evening, hosting Albertus Magnus College in a non-conference matchup. Unfortunately for the Hornets, they came up on the short end of the scoreboard, falling in straight sets, 25-12, 25-20, 25-16. Albertus Magnus improved to 4-3 on the season, while Lyndon fell to 2-5.
Sophie Cseszko led a balanced Falcon attack with eight kills. Paula Matheus added six kills and Naomi Batalla recorded 15 assists. Batalla and Alondra Acosta notched five digs apiece.
Nei'Shae Clegg (Coolidge, AZ) paced the Hornets with four kills and seven digs. Haylee Walker (Sierra Blanca, TX) had four assists and Olivia Cordova (Craig, CO) added five digs.
Lyndon returns to action next Tuesday, when they travel to Vermont State University Randolph for a non-conference doubleheader. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
