Presque Isle, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon closed out its 2025-26 campaign with a 91-67 loss at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon. With the defeat, the Hornets finished the season 7-18 overall and 5-13 in conference competition, while the Owls improved to 13-12 overall and 11-7 in conference.

Wesley McIntyre (Troy, NY) led Lyndon with 31 points and grabbed four rebounds.. Gregory Gonyea Jr. (Dolgeville, NY) and Matt Doyle (Whitesboro, NY) added 12 and 10 points respectively,.  Gonyea led the Hornets with five assists, while Doyle grabbed a team high seven rebounds.

UMPI placed five players in double figures, led by Akhe McMichael and Alex Moreno with 18 points apiece.  Tariq Martin added 14 points, while Doug McCalla and Tyson Enget chipped in 12 points apiece.  McMichael grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out seven assists, while Moreno and McCalla grabbed nine boards each.

Saturday's game was the final one for Lyndon's tri-captains, Gonyea, Doyle, and Chad Martin (Henniker, NH).  The Hornets expect to have a strong returning contingent to form the foundation of next year's team.
