Lynn, MA - The Vermont State University Lyndon baseball team came away with the same results on Sunday that they did a day earlier.  Lyndon Picked up another North Atlantic Conference victory over the University of Maine at Farmington before again falling to Fisher College.  The Hornets concluded the weekend with an overall record of 6-11 and a 3-1 mark in North Atlantic Conference play.  UMF fell to 4-10 on the season and 0-4 in conference.  Fisher improved to 16-12.

Game 1 - VTSU Lyndon 8, UMaine-Farmington 3

Lyndon built an 8-1 lead through six innings, then snuffed out a late UMF rally to pick up their second NAC win over the Owls in two days.  Lead off batter Evan Duncan (Little Elm, TX) had a big game with a double, a single, and three runs scored.  Eyon Tembreull (Vergennes, VT) had two hits and two RBIs.  Dale Ostermann (Harrington, DE) had a double and a single and Matt Gonyeau (St. Albans, VT) added two hits and an RBI.  Lyndon starter Nathan Bigelow (East Hampton, CT) struck out nine and allowed one run and foru hits over five innings to pick up the win.  Alberto Bustamante (Northridge, CA) pitched the final four innings to collect the save.

Ike Wrigley, Jameson Bloch, and Ryan Sargent, the first three hitters of the Owls, each had two hits, accounting for six of the eight UMF hits.  Starter Chris Albert took the loss.

Game 2 - Fisher 10, VTSU Lyndon 4

In the top of the fourth inning Duncan drew a bases loaded walk, then Gonyeau followed with a three-run single, aided by a fisher error, that gave the Hornets a 4-1 lead.  Fisher roared back, however, and regained the lead on Armando Torres' three-run double in the sixth inning.  The Falcons put the game out of reach with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Torres has a triple, a double, and a single with four runs batted in and three runs scored to lead Fisher.  Gilbert Gomez, Jose Aybar, and Ian Cabrera added two hits apiece for the Falcons.  Spencer Monroe come on to throw 3.1 innings of scoreless relief and earn the win.  Maylo Sierra picked up the save.

Duncan, Ostermann, and Ryan Alt (Poultney, VT) had the only Hornet hits other than Gonyeau's run producing base hit.  Lyndon starter Mike Redmond (Plantation, FL) took the loss.

Lyndon returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Norwich University for a 3:00 pm non-conference contest.
