Cobleskill, NY - The State University of New York at Cobleskill had control of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game against Vermont State University Lyndon right from the opening tip. The Fighting Tigers jumped out to a 14-4 lead and never looked back, pulling away for a 79-52 win over the Hornets. Cobleskill, the NAC West Division regular season champions, improved to 21-4 on the season and 11-2 in conference play. Lyndon fell to 10-13 overall and 7-6 in the NAC.
Antonia May topped four double figure scorers for the Tigers, finishing with 21 points on 7/14 shooting. Taylor Meacham added 14 points and Logan Thayne posted a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Cara Walker also reached double figures with 12 points.
Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) led Lyndon with 19 points and six rebounds. Sage Smith (Colebrook, NH) added 17 points and a team best seven rebounds. Kadienne Whitcomb (West Burke, VT) scored 12 points and Ella Huntington (Tylorsville, UT) dished out six assists.
Lyndon will wrap up the regular season on Monday evening when they host Plymouth State University in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm in Stannard Gymnasium.
