Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon cross country runner Verna Stoddard (Orleans, VT) has been named to the 2025 North Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team, as voted on by conference coaches and announced on Thursday. Stoddard is the first Lyndon woman to receive NAC honors in cross country since 2019, when Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) was named to the All-Conference Team and Isabelle Tuggle (Norwich, VT) was named to the Sportsmanship Team.
Stoddard, a junior Animation & Illustration major, had her best showing of the year at the Norwich University Cadet Invitational, where she completed the 6K course in 35:21.3, good for 35th place.
Sportsmanship Team honorees were selected for consistently demonstrating the tenets of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. They positively influenced the cross country culture and race environment by exemplifying integrity beyond the rules and etiquette of the sport.
