Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont State University Lyndon volleyball team battled in each set of their North Atlantic Conference opener against Vermont State University Johnson. Unfortunately for the Hornets, each set followed a similar pattern, with the visiting Badgers closing each strong to come away with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-14 victory to improve to 6-10 on the season. Lyndon is winless in 13 outings.
Haylee Hansen led the Badgers with eight kills, five aces, and16 digs. Setter Delaney Gross recorded 21 kills while Tatum Kalahiki and Alana Lews notched 14 and 13 digs respectively.
Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) led the Hornets with five kills and added 13 digs. Nei'Shae Clegg (Coolidge, AZ) added four kills and ten digs. Kazandra Gonzalez (Norwalk, CA) led the team with four assists and 14 digs.
The Hornets will take the court again on Sunday afternoon when they host Vermont State University Randolph in a non-conference doubleheader. The first match will begin at 11:00 am.
