Hornet men defeated by Lesley in Senior Day season finale

Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont StateUniversity Lyndon men's soccer team closed its 2025 season Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 loss to Lesley University at Varsity Field.

Lesley (7-8-3, 3-5-1 NAC) wasted no time getting on the board, as Nick Wadleigh scored just 73 seconds into the match off a corner kick from Wassim Chaib.  The Lynx doubled their lead after an own goal in the 15th minute and added a third before halftime when Yik Ka Lam converted on a setup from Tyler Fortin in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0.

Chaib extended the margin with a goal of his own early in the second half, and Marc Kenny Derac struck twice in an eight-minute span to put the game out of reach.  Miles Brajdic capped the scoring for the Lynx in the final minute.

Lesley finished with a 36-6 advantage in shots and 13 corner kicks to Lyndon's one.  Alessandro Anzalone (Eagle, ID) had two shots on goal for the Hornets.  Lyndon goalkeepers Parker Pierce (Woodstock, VT) and Joe Buchanan (McCordsville, IN) combined for 14 saves.

Prior to the match, Lyndon honored seniors Quinn Bressler and Jeffrey Blais for their contributions to Lyndon soccer.  They were joined on the field by family, friends, and teammates, and presented with tokens of appreciation from the program.

The contest marked the final outing of the year for the Hornets (1-15, 0-9 NAC), who will look to build on the experience their young roster gained this fall as they turn their attention toward the 2026 campaign.
