Hornet volleyball defeated in straight sets at Thomas

Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon couldn't find its rhythm on Saturday, falling to Thomas College in straight sets, 25-19, 25-11, 25-16, in North Atlantic Conference women's volleyball action.

The Hornets battled early in the opening set, keeping pace with the Terriers through the first set before Thomas used a late surge to take control.  The hosts carried that momentum into the second frame, jumping out to a big lead and cruising to a 25-11 win.  Lyndon showed fight in the third, but Thomas proved too consistent down the stretch to complete the sweep.

Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) led the Hornets with five kills and six points, while Sydney Clunis (Windsor, ON) anchored the defense with 17 digs and added three kills. Kazandra Gonzalez (Norwalk, CA) finished with four assists and nine digs, and Lyndon collected 45 digs as a team.

Addison Lebel paced the Terriers with nine kills and a .286 hitting percentage.  Camille Gibson added 19 digs and four aces, and Lindsay Pool contributed 12 assists and five kills as Thomas improved to 6-12 overall and 4-2 in NAC play.

The Hornets dropped to 3-18 on the season and 1-3 in the conference.  Lyndon will return to action on Friday evening when SUNY Delhi comes to Stannard Gymnasium for a NAC matchup.
