Castleton, VT - In a matchup of two Vermont State University volleyball teams, host VTSU Castleton cruised to a straight set victory over VTSU Lyndon on Friday evening.  The Spartans improved to 7-3 on the season, while the Hornets fell to 0-9.

Kaitlyn Chapman paced Castleton with eight kills.  Setter Alondra Rojas recorded 19 assists and seven aces and Delia Roulston and Vistoria Garcia notched six digs apiece.

Hannah Badertscher (Irasburg, VT) led Lyndon with three kills.  Kazandra Gonzalez (Norwalk, CA) had the Hornets' only assist.  Gonzalez and Emily Anderson (Levittown, NY) were credited with five digs apiece.

The Hornets will travel to Albertus Magnus College for a non-conference match next Wednesday.  The openign serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
