Lyndonville, VT - Four Vermont State University Lyndon women's lacrosse players have been named to the 2023-2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team, as announced on Tuesday. The At-Large Team recognizes athletes from all sports whose sponsorship is below the threshold for a sport-specific All-District Team.
The student athletes honored include:
- Isabel Bourgeois (St. Johnsbury, VT) is a junior Childhood Education major with a 3.74 grade point average. One of the Hornet tri-captains, she started all ten games and scored two goals this past season. Bourgeois was the team's Heart of ther Team Award recipient.
- Maachah Krull (Woodsville, NH) is a junior Childhood Education major with a 3.59 grade point average. She was another tri-captain and started all ten games, scoring two goals with one assist. Krull was also named to the tennis Academic All-District Team.
- Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) is a sophomore who is studying Criminal Justice with a concentration in Restorative Justice. She has a 3.79 grade point average. Mack started all ten games on defense, tallying a goal and an assist with 25 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers, and 40 draw controls. She was named to the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference 2nd Team.
- Abigail Stacy (East Barre, VT) is a junior Childhood Education major with a 3.71 grade point average. The team's third tri-captain, she also started every game, recording 12 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
The 2023-2024 Academic All-District® At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America - CoSIDA), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The top Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 16 (women) and July 17 (men).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-2024 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
