Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon women's Lacrosse players Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) and Abigail Stacy (East Barre, VT) were among those honored by the North Atlantic Conference when the NAC announced its annual women's lacrosse awards today. Conference coaches voted Mack to the All-Conference 2nd Team. Stacy was named to the Sportsmanship Team.
Mack, a sophomore defender, received 2nd Team honors for the second year in a row. She started all ten games for the Hornets and led the team with 25 ground balls. Mack also was credited with 20 caused turnovers, ranking tied for fifth in the NAC, and 40 draw controls, ranking tied for sixth in the conference. She scored her first career goal against SUNY Canton on April 3rd.
Stacy, a junior co-captain, also started all ten games. She recorded 12 ground balls and six caused turnovers on the season. Selection to the NAC Sportsmanship Team is reserved for student athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the lacrosse culture and game environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that goes beyond the playing rules and etiquette.
Mack and Stacy are expected to return next season as key pieces to Lyndon's foundation.
