Waterville, ME - Thomas College jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one quarter of Tuesday's North Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse game against Vermont State University Lyndon. The Terriers never looked back, cruising to a 15-2 victory, improving to 2-7 on the season and 1-2 in NAC play. The Hornets remain winless in five outings, including three conference affairs.
Alia Chase had four goals to lead the Thomas attack. Isabella Pelletier added three goals and two assists while Mara Gentry and Samantha Snow scored two goals apiece.
Riley Webster (Upton, MA) scored both Lyndon goals. Isabel Bourgeois was the only other Hornet to put a shot on goal.
Gwendolyn Schillie went the distance in goal for the Terriers, earning the win and making seven saves in the process. Alyssa Gerrish (Washington, VT) also played the entire game in the Lyndon goal and made three saves while absorbing the loss.
Thomas outshot Lyndon, 28-13, and committed only 12 turnovers to 19 for the Hornets. The Terriers also held a 14-8 advantage in ground balls and a 12-8 advantage in draw controls.
Lyndon is scheduled to return to action on Thursday afternoon, when they play at home for the first time in a non-conference contest avainst Vermont State University Castleton. The opening draw is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
