Bangor, ME - The Vermont State University Lyndon women's tennis team traveled to Maine for a pari of North Atlantic Conference matches today. The Hornets started their excursion in Waterville, where they faced Thomas College. They then traveled to Bangor for a matchup with Husson University. Unfortunately for the Hornets, they were swept in both contests, leaving them winless in four NAC matches and eight matches overall. Thomas improved to 2-2 in NAC play and 4-5 overall, while Husson improved to 3-1 in conference and 4-2 on the season.
Match 1 - Thomas 9, VTSU Lyndon 0
The Terriers made quick work of the Hornets, sweeping the match without dropping a game.
Match 2 - Husson 9, VTSU Lyndon 0
Husson also had their way, as they swept all nine flights. Lindsey Gannon (Beverly, MA) fell 6-1, 6-0 to Husson's Mallory Beaulieu at fourth singles. The Eagles didn't drop a game in any of the other eight flights.
Lyndon will close out the season with a doubleheader at Vermont State University Johnson on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets and Badgers will square off in a NAC match at 1:00 pm, with a non-conference match to follow.
