Dudley, MA - Nichols College jumped out to a 10-0 lead after one quarter and went on to defeat Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 22-0, in Wednesday night's non-conference women's lacrosse matchup.  The game was the season opener for both teams.

Emma Patton and Sam Ahaesy had four goals apiece to pace Nichols.  Hadley Houghton added three goals and recorded a team best nine ground balls.  Ten different Bison scored in the contest.  Meanwhile Lyndon only managed one shot on goal, an Isabel Bourgeois (St. Johnsbury, VT) free position shot in the fourth quarter.

Keri Tremblay and Jessica Volpi each played a half in goal for Nichols.  Volpi was credited with a save on Burgeois' free position.  Makayla Phoenix (Houston, TX) went the distance in the Hornet goal and recorded nine saves.

The Hornets will travel to Mitchell College for another non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.  The opening draw is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
