Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Hornet women's lacrosse can't keep up with NEC

Henniker, NH - New England College scored the first eight goals of the game and never looked back, going on to defeat Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 21-2, in women's lacrosse on Wednesday evening.  The Pilgrims improved to 3-5 with the win while the Hornets remain winless in three starts this season.

Nathalie Antigua had a big night for NEC, scoring eight goals and adding seven ground balls and five draw controls.  Cassie Kelly added four goals, five assists, and a game high 14 ground balls and Mackenzie McDonald also scored four times and recorded six draw controls.  Meadow Gilchrist chipped in with a pair of goals and three assists and Isabella Marzano, Annalisa Crooks, and Jackie Nee scored one goal each.  

Katie Cushing (St. Johnsbury, VT) converted a pair of fre position shots for Lyndon's two goals.

Carleigh Knotts went the distance to get the win in goal for NEC.  She only recorded one save, as the Pilgrims outshot the Hornets, 41-7.  Renee Chaples (Palmer, MA) made ten saves in goal for Lyndon and absorbed the loss.  NEC also dominated ground balls, 54-13, and draw controls, 20-7.

The Hornets will be on the road again on Saturday, as they travel to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for a 5:00 pm start.
